Prevalence, treatment, and the correlates of common mental disorders in the mid 2010 ′s in Japan: The results of the world mental health Japan 2nd survey
Mental disorders have been shown to be one of the main causes of nonfatal burden, with the percentage of the number of years lived with disability increasing from 2005 to 2015 (GBD 2015 DALYs and HALE Collaborators, 2016; GBD 2015 Disease and Injury Incidence and Prevalence Collaborators, 2016). However, the need for the treatment of mental disorders is still unmet (Thornicroft et al., 2017; Wang et al., 2007). The World Health Organization (WHO) World Mental Health (WMH) Survey Consortium and other previous studies have reported a high prevalence of mental disorders worldwide, although they found a comparatively low prevalence in Asia (Baxter et al., 2013; Ferrari et al ., 2013; Zachary Steel, 2014; Kessler et al., 2006).
