Diet quality, physical activity, and their association with metabolic syndrome in Korean adults

Considering the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) increases dramatically with age, identifying and managing its contributing factors early in life are important to alleviate the global health burden [1, 2]. Among lifestyle factors, diet and physical activity (PA) are suggested to be critical in the prevention and management of MetS [3, 4]. Moreover, gender reportedly influences the association of socioeconomic and lifestyle factors with MetS. [5, 6].
