Effects of 12-week Lactobacillus plantarum OLL2712 treatment on glucose metabolism and chronic inflammation in human pre-diabetic subjects: A single-arm pilot study
The prevalence of metabolic disorders, including type-2 diabetes mellitus, has dramatically increased worldwide and this has become a global public health problem [1]. Among the investigations of various foods for their ability to prevent and/or treat metabolic disorders, recently, certain lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have shown promising results. In particular, it was previously confirmed that certain LAB strains improved lipid metabolism and reduced body fat in both animal studies [2] and clinical trials [3].
