The effect of progressive muscle relaxation on emotional competence: depression- anxiety-stress, sense of coherence, health-related quality of life, and well-being of unemployed people in Greece: An intervention study.
The dramatic increase in long-term unemployment in Greece from 2009 to today (2017), as a direct negative consequence of the economic crisis, constitutes a top national and European issue. Characteristically, since the start of the economic crisis in Greece (2009), unemployment increased from 9.5% in 2009 to 23.1% in 2016, showing a continuous upward trend over the last years1. In 2010, 44.6% of the unemployed were long-term unemployed (>12 months), while in 2015 that figure reached 70.3%2. In 2015, world unemployment rates were 5.8% and 9.5% for EU countries3.
