A recent concept analysis of frequent attenders of primary care services published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies by Kivel ä et al. (2018) identifies four key characteristics of frequent attenders of primary healthcare services: 1) the feelings of symptoms, 2) perceived poor health status, 3) lower quality of life, and 4) frequent visits to a primary health care provider. The authors propose antecedents including the p atient’s individual characteristics, the primary health care system, and the patient-physician relationship based on primary research from countries such as UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Israel, Kuweit, and Australia (Kivelä et al., 2018).
