Social networks of patients with chronic depression: a systematic review

The term ‘social network’ refers to the social ties that link individuals together through communication (Cohen et al., 1978) and different sets of interactions. Although this term is not precise, it can be characterised more clearly by both the structure of the network (i.e. size, the frequency of conta ct etc.) and the network function (i.e. social support, the content of the relationships) (Santini et al., 2015).
