The Patient-Professional Interaction Questionnaire (PPIQ) to Assess Patient Centered Care from the Patient ’s Perspective

Patient-centered care (PCC) is a major component of high-quality care [1] that refers to taking a whole person perspective and is based on respect for patients ’ values, needs, and preferences [2], informing, educating, and involving them in decision-making, and showing emotional support [3]. Systematic reviews have reported a number of advantages of PCC practice [4] such as improvements of patients’ health knowledge, self-care behaviors, satisfaction, quality of life, and reductions of admissions, readmissions, and length of the hospital stay.
