The Moderating Role of Social Support for Marital Adjustment, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress: Evidence from Pakistani Working and Nonworking Women

Several previous studies have revealed that individuals ’ mental health and social well-being are influenced by factors such as age, gender, work environment, and socio-economic standings. There are very few studies on social support and the quality of marital satisfaction with a focus on socially anxious couples and their idealistic relationships. Soc ial support might refer to the means of relieving depression, anxiety, and stress for married working and nonworking women. Previous studies evidenced that social support plays an important buffer role against stress and mental distress among married working women (Li, Hofstetter, Irving, Chhay,& Hovell, 2014).
