Mesenteric science and sigmoid volvulus: Should we take a step back?

Aim: Mesenteric science is a new and developing field of anatomical study. The variability of the fixation of mesentery can encourage sigmoid volvulus (SV), accounting for up to 50% of intestinal obstruction in the developing world. The aim of this project was to explore existing risk factors and the trigger for SV at the time of occurrence.
