Does nipple discharge cytology add value to the diagnosis of underlying pathology in the era of digital imaging

Aim: Nipple discharge is a common presentation in symptomatic breast clinics constitution 5-10% of new referrals. The role of nipple discharge cytology in the diagnosis of underlying pathology remains controversial often with mixed results. We aim to analyse our specialist unit ’s experience.
