A large ascending aortic aneurysm secondary to idiopathic necrotising aortitis - A rare but important cause of thoracic aortic disease
Aneurysms of the ascending aorta are rare and their underlying aetiologies manifold. In the elderly they are typically associated with atherosclerotic processes, whilst in younger patients, connective tissue disorders predominate.
