Salmonella infected total hip replacement complicated by a Vancouver C peri-prosthetic fracture; Management, surgical technique, trials and tribulations

We report a sixty-five year old who developed an infected total hip replacement with Salmonella Typhimurium. The patient was managed for ten years with suppressive antibiotics before necessitating a two-stage revision for worsening pain. A first-stage revision was performed with an antibiotic spacer mounted on an Exeter Stem.
