Platinum based chemotherapy resulting in enteric neurotoxicity? Case Report of a patient mistaken for prolonged postoperative ileus
Introduction: Growing evidence suggests that platinum based chemotherapy affects the enteric nervous system causing gastrointestinal dysmotility long after its cessation. This is perhaps the first case reported of slow gastrointestinal transit caused by oxaliplatin and misdiagnosed for prolonged postoperative ileus.
