A tail of two bezoars

A bezoar is an accumulation of indigestible material in the digestive tract, most commonly the stomach. A trichobezoar occurs from the ingestion of hair, is associated with trichotillomania and most commonly occurs in young females2. In Rapunzel Syndrome the trichobezoar extends past the stomach into the small intestine1. In this case report we present two similar presentations of Rapunzel Syndrome with different outcomes. Both cases were young females and presented with abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
