Reducing the incidence of acute kidney injury in elective total hip replacements
Aim: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in surgical patients. This audit compares the incidence of AKI in patients undergoing elective total hip replacement (THR) at a district general hospital to nationwide averages and identifies strategies to reduce it.
