Establishing a modern emergency general surgical service: Impact of dedicated daily emergency clinics and surgical assessment unit

Aim: This single-centre audit aimed to assess the impact of implementing dedicated emergency surgical services including a Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) and Hospital Outpatient Treatment (HOT) clinics on emergency general surgery (EGS) admissions, operative procedures performed and follow-up post discharge.
