FALCON: Protocol for a pragmatic multicentre factorial randomised controlled trial testing measures to reduce surgical site infection in low and middle income countries
Aim: Overall surgical site infection (SSI) rates are almost double in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) compared to high income countries. This trial will assess whether either 2% alcoholic chlorhexidine or triclosan-coated suture can reduce SSI in LMICs.
