P 167 - Reliability and validity of four-point scale of Thompsons test after Achilles Tendon Rupture

Achilles tendon rupture often leads to decreased activity and physical function both after surgical and non-surgical treatment (Tengman, 2013; Willy, 2017). Optimal treatment as well as intensity of rehabilitation is still debated (Holm, 2015). In the rehabilitation the relevance and importance of physical examination tests, including the Thompsons test, to evaluate healing and function is not clear (Todorov, 2015). There are limited reports on the reliability of the tests and to our knowledge objective quantification of Thompsons test is lacking.
