P 168 - Improvement in plantarflexion at Thompsons test after Achilles tendon rupture

Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) often leads to decreased activity and physical function (Tengman 2013, Willy 2017). In recent years more attention has been directed towards the role of rehabilitation, although the optimal rehabilitation program is still debated (Holm 2015, Frankewycs 2017). It has been suggested that the rehabilitation can be divided into four different phases where the progress to next phase should be based on time from injury and recovery of the individual patient (DJO Publications 2014).
