P 179 – Analysis of Dynamic Knee Motion during Lateral and Posterolateral Jump Landing in Female Badminton Players

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are caused by a non-contact mechanism in female athletes and severe injuries for athletes because of the long periods missed from sport participation. Excessive knee valgus during landing tasks is a risk factor in knee injuries [1]. Most studies have examined lower extremity biomechanics during the forward direction of a jump task. Badminton players often injure knee ligaments when they jump and land in a lateral direction (LL) or posterolateral direction (PL) on play court.
