Access to medicine after bad A-Level results.

When I say, 'bad A-Level results', I don't mean horribly bad. I mean, I did get into university to study psychology, but rejected the offers after deciding I wasn't giving up on my passion and wanted to pursue a career as a doctor. During my AS year of my a levels, I had various problems and didn't do so well, I continued into A2 anyway and managed to pull my grades to DDE from EUU in my AS year. I got offers from university for a foundation degree in psychology. I rejected the offers almost immediately as I realised I needed to try to pursue my dream in medicine. Now, I have read up on various different access courses, but the problem is my a level grades, will it go against me when applying for medicine that I already have a level 3 qualification. A few extra details: I'm 18 I just finished my a levels in maths, psychology, general studies and EPQ last June. Upon completion of my a levels, I went to speak to student guidance at college, I was hesitant about speaking up that I wanted to study medicine as every single person I've spoke to about it has spoke to me as though I'm crazy. But she said, 'if you could do anything, what would it be?' To which I quickly said, 'medicine', she didn't even hesitate to say, 'well, you're never going to be a doctor' and had a little giggle to herself. I swore, a lot and then left, telling her someday I'd be back and will prove her wrong. So, anyone who can shed some light on my situation, please do so! I'm at a loss.
