USG guided bilateral erector spinae plane block is an effective and safe postoperative analgesia method for living donor liver transplantation
The erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a novel technique which was first used to provide analgesia in the thoracic region in 2016 [1].Then, it was shown that ESPB provides somatic and visceral analgesia in abdominal surgeries [2]. Bilateral subcostal incisions, retractions, and wide liver resections in donors cause severe postoperative pain in the lower thoracic and abdominal areas. In this paper, we present our experience in 3 patients undergoing living donor liver transplantation surgery in which ESPB was performed for postoperative analgesia.
