Thrombosis and compartment syndrome requiring fasciotomy: Complications of internal iliac artery balloon catheters for morbidly adherent placenta
The incidence of Morbidly-Adherent-Placenta (MAP) is on the rise. Bilateral-internal-iliac-artery-occlusion-catheters (BIIABOC) are used to reduce bleeding during cesarean-hysterectomy (CH) for MAP in some institutions. Thrombosis is a possible complication of these catheters.
