O 046 - A flexible omnibus matching algorithm (FOMA) to support treatment decisions for children with cerebral palsy
Predicting treatment outcomes for children with cerebral palsy (CP) is a "holy grail" of clinical gait analysis. Researchers have focused on modeling techniques like linear regression and machine learning. These approaches work, but they suffer from several impediments to adoption. First, due to limitations in their statistical expertise, clinicians are skeptical of results produced by models. Second, these approaches minimize the clinician's input and fail to leverage their expertise, causing further alienation.
