O 073 - Effect of Trunk Motion Restriction on the Muscle Activities of Shoulder External Rotators during Throwing

Trunk movement is important to transfer energy efficiently during throwing and limited trunk motion increases reliance on the upper extremities [1]. The shoulder external rotator muscles have role of deceleration the throwing arm and ensuring stability of shoulder joint. Therefore, it is considered that trunk motion limitation lead to emphasize arm swing and increase traction stress on the shoulder external rotators. However, the relationship between trunk movement and the muscle activities of the shoulder external rotators is unclear.
