P 166 - Use of 3D Gait Analysis to Measure Clinical Outcome in a Stiff Person Syndrome

Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) is an autoimmune movement disorder that leads to a local or generalized increase in muscle tone. Patient with SPS usually also shown painful spasm, hyperreflexia, and elevation of serum anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase (anti-GAD) antibodies [1]. Anti- GAD antibodies probably play a central role in causing the disease, but precise mechanisms remain unknown [1]. Actually, data on disease natural history are poor, treatments are yet unstandardized [2] and there aren ’t reliable and accurate outcome measures to use in clinical trials [3].
