Comments on “Clinical outcomes after burns in elderly patients over 70years: A 17-year retrospective analysis”

We, enthusiastically, read the paper by Dexter et al. that was published in the valuable journal of Burns [1]. The study was conducted to examine outcomes following burns in patients>70years over a period of 17years. They found that ICU admission [Odds Ratio (OR): 3.7; 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 2.1 –6.5], ventilator support [OR: 7.1; 95% CI: 4.1–12.0], and %TBSA>10% [OR: 3.1; 95% CI: 1.9 –5.0] significantly increased the odds of mortality. Undoubtedly, Dexter et al. have conducted valuable study but some methodological issues need to be taken into account.
