Sensory profiles in unipolar and bipolar affective disorders: possible predictors of response to antidepressant medications? A prospective follow-up study
Sensory processing generally reflects the ability to integrate sensory information through peripheral and central nervous systems and commonly refers to the ability to register and modulate sensory stimuli to respond to situational demands (Humphry, 2002; Miller et al., 2007). Based on Dunn's theoretical assumptions (2014), environmental sensory information was provided to the brain and organized in a complex manner in order to decode emotional experiences as well as carry out adequate behaviors.
