The increasing development and advances in computations have highlighted the significance of NoC. The manner of mapping processing cores in a respective topology can significantly impact on chip efficiency and its power consumption. In this paper, a clustering-based mapping algorithm, namely V-CastNet3D, was proposed on 3-D NoC. According to the proposed algorithm, each of the clusters obtained through the innovative FLVAMOSA clustering method was mapped by the CastNet mapping method [101] on a network layer on 3-D chip and the best mode was selected via replacing layers. FLVAMOSA clustering method is based on multi-criteria optimization; through purposeful task clustering and placing the tasks with the highest communication weight at the shortest possible distance, FLVAMOSA can reduce communication costs. The results of simulating the proposed algorithm indicated that V-CastNet mapping algorithm was able to reduce delay and network power consumption better than other related algorithms. Also, by enhancing mapping speed, the proposed method was able to achieve desirable efficiency.
