An integrated experiential training programme with coaching to promote physical activity, and reduce fatigue among children with cancer: A randomised controlled trial
Cancer-related fatigue is the most commonly reported symptom in children with cancer [1] and negatively affects their quality of life (QoL) [2]. Despite strong evidence that regular physical activity reduces fatigue [3], most children with cancer experience a decline in physical activity levels after diagnosis [3,4]. Physical inactivity induces muscle catabolism and atrophy, which further deteriorate cancer-related fatigue [5]. Health education alone may be insufficient to alter children ’s behaviour [6].
