Re: The relationships among physical activity, sedentary behaviour, obesity and quitting behaviours within a cohort of smokers in California

I read the interesting article by Linke et  al.1 investigating the relationship among behavioral health risk factors, including insufficient physical activity (PA), sedentary behavior and obesity, and smoking cessation. Adjusted odds ratios (ORs) (95% confidence interval [CI]) of obesity and higher levels of PA for ≥24-h quit attempt were 1.450 (1.088–1.932) and 1.448 (1.111–1.887), respectively. In addition, OR (95% CI) of obesity for being quit for ≥30 days was 1.760 (1.095–2.828). Obesity was a preferable factor for smoking cessation, and I have some concerns about their study.
