Tai chi may be more effective for improving fibromyalgia symptoms than aerobic exercise

Fibromyalgia is a chronic, non-inflammatory, diffuse pain disorder marked by widespread musculoskeletal pain. Associated symptoms often include fatigue, sleep difficulty, cognitive dysfunction, and depressed mood or depressive episodes.1-4 Unfortunately, fibromyalgia has been a difficult illness to treat. Medications from classes including antidepressants, anti-epileptics, analgesics, hypnotics, and cannabinoids have demonstrated only modest effects or have insufficient evidence of benefit. Additionally, many of the medications used have significant side effects which make them intolerable.
