Promoting Safety From Opioid Overdose

The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has updated their Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit for 2018. The toolkit provides an outline for comunity members to understand the scope of opioid overdose and how to address it. The toolkit includes such topics as: strategies to prevent overdose deaths, recommended steps for first responders, ideas for healthcare providers to provide education to reduce risk, treatment options, and safety advice.
