Incidence and Pathology of Abortions Associated with Umbilical Cord Torsions
The objectives of this study were to (i) determine the proportion of pregnancy losses attributed to UC pathologies in a Newmarket thoroughbred subpopulation and (ii) describe and compare the characteristics and gross pathological lesions in UC-related and non-UC-related abortions. A retrospective cohort study collected pregnancy outcomes on 2,245 pregnancies from 29 studs for the 2013 and 2014 breeding seasons.
