Combination of hCG and Deslorelin Acetate on the Induction of Ovulation in Mares: Changes in Follicular Fluid Protein Profile
Hormonal treatments for induction of ovulation are routinely used in equine industry. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) or analogues of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) like deslorelin, have been tested for efficiency, time of ovulation and dose administered [1,2]. The use of hCG in commercial oocyte transfer programs resulted in failure of some follicles to respond, and no oocytes or immature oocytes were collected [3]. However, the maturation of the follicle and oocyte after use of the association hCG and deslorelin acetate was reliable [4].
