Tailoring care for older adults

By 2050 it is estimated that 2.1 billion people will be age 60 years or older worldwide, which is double the current size of this population. The demands of older adults for housing, transportation, social protection, and health and well-being will increase as well, and governmental and health care organizations will need to be proactive in providing appropriate policies and programs. Oral health is a fundamental component of health and physical and mental well-being that will be influenced by the individual's experiences, perceptions, expectations, and ability to adapt to circumstances.
