Preoperative prediction of postoperative survival with a novel prognostic score in potentially resectable pancreatic cancer
Objectives Accurate preoperative staging and prediction of prognosis in potentially resectable pancreatic cancer (PDAC) is challenging due to small metastases detectable only by surgical exploration or subclinical metastases. To inform treatment decisions and facilitate clinical trials comparing strategies of upfront resection and neoadjuvant therapy better tools for pre-therapeutic prediction of survival are urgently needed. We aimed to develop a prognostic score based on objective and easily reproducible preoperative parameters.
