Fentanyl impairs the severity of L-ornithine-induced experimental acute pancreatitis in rats
Objectives Pain is a predominant symptom of acute pancreatitis (AP) and opioids are widely used for its management. Barlass et al. have recently demonstarted that morphine treatment worsened the severity of AP in mice. Due to its good safety profile, the application of fentanyl in AP is increasing. In our study, we aimed to assess the effect of fentanyl on AP severity.
