Postoperative interventional endoscopy for the remnant pancreas of patients who have undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy
Objectives Secondary lesions and complications of the remnant pancreas have been increasing after pancreatectomy. Interventional endoscopy (IE) for the remnant pancreas is often difficult after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD), as various types of pancreato-gastrointestinal reconstruction procedures are performed. We implemented a unique reconstruction after PD to enable easy endoscopic approach to the remnant pancreas, and studied the clinical usefulness of postoperative IE.
