Peripoerative analysis and long term results of complications after surgical therapy of IPMN

Objectives Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) are detected more frequently due to advanced medical imaging. IPMNs are considered to be premalignant lesions with different rates of malignant transformation dependent on histological characteristics and localization. Malignancy rate in IPMNs with high-risk stigmata is up to 62%. Although premalignant lesions, the risk of operation is high. Therefore, the risk of a malignant transformation must be balanced with the perioperative risks and with the quality of life of patients.
