Postoperative bile fistula after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for malignant tumors of the pancreatic head

Objectives Besides postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF), postoperative bile fistula (POBF) displays a major complication following PD for malignant tumors of the pancreatic head. While risk factors for the development of POPF are well studied, risk factors for the development of POBF remain elusive. Thus, the aim of the study was to identify risk factors associated with the development of POBF.
