Pylorus preserving duodenopancreatectomy with pancreaticogastrostomy-initial experiences
Objectives The most harmful complication of pylorus preserving duodenopancreatectomy (PPD) with pancreaticogastrostomy is the development of the postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF). The risk of POPF increases in the case of a “soft” pancreas with a narrow Wirsung duct. Postoperative hemorrhage can be also the complication of this surgical procedure. The aim of this study was to present our initial experiences with PPD procedure.
