PAMPAC trial: Occurrence of pain and quality of pain management in pancreatic cancer patients across Europe
Objectives Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is associated with moderate to severe cancer-related pain in most patients, as it has a high rate of neural invasion. Despite WHO management guidelines for pain management, more than 50% of cancer patients worldwide still experience pain. One-third of these patients don ’t receive an adequate pain treatment. This data indicates that there is a need for more investigations regarding pain management in PDAC patients to improve the quality of care.
