The Interrelationship of Sleep and Depression: New Answers but Many Questions Remain

Depression is a highly prevalent and debilitating disease. One aspect of efforts to understand depression has focused on its relationship with sleep. Attempting to elucidate the interrelationship of sleep and depression remains an ongoing effort which to date and has produced an incomplete and complex picture. Sun et al. ’s findings, [1] in this issue of Sleep Medicine provide some new answers about this interrelationship, yet leave many questions unanswered.
