Induction of labor (IOL), or the artificial stimulation of uterine contractions for the purpose of vaginal birth, is one of the most common obstetrical procedures performed throughout the world and is considered when the benefits of delivery outweigh the potential risks of continuing the pregnancy. Few studies explore IOL in psychiatric patients.
