Assessing the longitudinal stability of latent classes of substance use among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men
Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBM) represent a priority population for public health intervention (Institute of Medicine (US), 2011) as they are known to be at elevated risk for a variety of deleterious health outcomes (Cochran and Mays, 2007; Coker et al., 2010). Among these, GBM is especially vulnerable to poorer mental and emotional health and have a greater risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as HIV (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015; Pl öderl and Tremblay, 2015).
