Gcn5 ‐related N‐acetyltransferase (GNAT) toxins acetylate aminoacyl‐tRNA and block protein translation. A GNAT toxin encoded by the kacAT locus in carbapenem‐resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae HS11286 falls into a distinct phylogenetic clade compared to related toxins of S. enterica and E. coli.
