Simulation-based Transfusion Education for Medical Students

We were interested to read the work by Konia et al [1] that compared three different methods for teaching transfusion medicine to medical students. At our institution, we developed a mixed methods Transfusion Medicine curriculum which uses a simulation component. We implemented this approach as a mandatory component for second-year medical students in 2017. All members of the second-year medical student class present on the day of the activity (N = 50) participated. Students were divided into working groups of 5-6 students.
