Eligibility for a medicine degree - which route to take?
I am currently doing a degree in Human Sciences and got all A*s and As for GCSE and ABB (French, biology and English lit only a few UMS off As) in my A-levels and grade C in As chemistry and a D in maths. As I had extenuating circumstances (depression) when I took my A2s I took a third year and resat 2 exams pushing my grades up to 3As and I studied A-level Psychology in a year getting an A* at the end.
What are my options for medicine?
Can I just apply to graduate entry medicine?
Or can I apply for the 5yr course as I would have to get my A-level in chemistry could I do this via distance learning/college to do this but it is not within 2 years of A-level so is it not possible? Also how would my resits (i.e. A-levels in 3 years) affect my chances of getting into a 5 year course.
Would I be eligible for an access course or not if I complete my degree?
Or I could not finish my degree and apply to 6-year medicine with foundation course as i presume I could not do this after my degree.
Which option do you think would be best?
Sorry for such a long entry. :)
