Introduction

Sickle Cell Disease is prevalent in certain regions of the world and certain ethnic groups. With migrations and inter-racial marriages, this inherited disease is becoming widespread beyond these regions and groups. Hence, it is empirical to be familiar with the disease and its manifestations. The disease has various effects on patients, some of these are life-threatening. It also affects the quality of life; patients often have to set their priorities, prioritizing dealing with the disease ’ complications while neglecting other health needs.
